Meet our founder
Michael M. Dillard
Michael M. Dillard is a retired US Navy Submarines Chief Petty Officer with over 20 years of faithful service. A Machinist Mate (Auxiliaryman) by trade, Michael also distinguished himself by certifying as a Navy Master Training Specialist and cross-qualifying various electrical-trade watch stations.
AUTHOR, SPEAKER, TRAINER
Nationally-recognized expert in electrical safety
After retiring from the US Navy in 2011, Michael entered the civilian workforce where he began working with an electrical contracting company in Hawaii. In 2015 while still in their employment, he suffered a mild concussion after experiencing a close-range arc blast in a commercial customer’s secondary switchgear.
After recovering, he committed himself to becoming a nationally-recognized expert on all things related to electrical safety in the workplace. It was during this time of recovery that the idea for what is now iOn Reliability Training & Consulting (“iOn Reliability” ) was born.
In addition to being one of the most in-demand providers of electrical safety training in the state, he is also one of only a handful of NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professionals in Hawaii.
